Mumbai: Tableau on valour of Kanhoji Angre to be on show at Shivaji Park

Mumbai, Jan 25: A tableau depicting the courage of Kanhoji Angre, naval chief of Shivaji Maharaj’s army that was rejected by the centre will be on show at Shivaji Park during the Republic Day parade on Sunday.

Kanhoji had fought in the 18th century against the British, Dutch and Portuguese plans of expansion on the coasts of India.

The story of Angre will be told by 60 artistes with live acts of stick fights and swords.

A tableau on Shivaji’s coronation in 2018 had won first prize.
