Bengaluru, Jan 23: Congress MLA NA Haris from Shantinagar constituency and four others sustained minor injuries when crackers exploded during an event in Vannarpet, Viveknagar, on Wednesday, January 22.
The incident took place at 8.30 pm when Haris was attending an event near a temple.
The 53-year-old was the chief guest and sitting in the first row, when a few lit crackers landed on him and four others sitting next to him.
Haris suffered injuries to his leg. He and the other injured were shifted to St Philomena's Hospital.
Police are trying to ascertain whether the crackers were hurled at Haris or exploded accidentally.
