Mangaluru, Jan 21: The investigating team has made progress in the bomb threat incident at Mangaluru International Airport, said police commissioner Dr P S Harsha.

He said, “In the investigation, we have questioned several people and searched suspected places. We are taking all kind of measures to apprehend the accused. The questioning of auto driver is in progress. We are trying to find of there is any link between the incident and the IndiGo bomb threat call received by terminal manager.

“We are also investigating threat calls received at various airports and collecting information. Public has sent various photos and videos which are identical with the suspect which the investigating team is looking into.

"The investigating team is working hard in this case and the situation is under control. Airport operations are normal today. We will soon trace the culprit and get the truth out. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), soon after the disposal, sent the residue to FSL and the complete report will be given on the nature of the explosive.

“The bomb disposal squad which was present at the spot opined that this might be a low quality raw material used in making the explosive. We are investigating all possible angles and are confident in nabbing the culprit at the earliest,” said Dr P S Harsha.
