Bengaluru, Jan 16: The department of Muzrai, which control the affairs of major temples of the state, is thinking of introducing dress codes in important temples of the state. This information was given by minister for Muzrai Kota Srinivas Poojary on Thursday, January 16. Minister Poojary said that he has received many proposals and decision will be taken after holding discussion with concerned temple authorities.

In many temples of South India, including the renowned Guruvayur temple of Kerala, dress code is mandatory. In addition, dress code was introduced for those entering the sanctum sanctorum of Kashi Vishwanath temple recently. Now there is demand for introducing dress code in the temples of the state of Karnataka.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal (BD) had urged the Muzrai department to introduce dress code in Kukke Subramanya temple. Both the organizations had sent an appeal to the Muzrai department objecting the kind of dresses the devotees were wearing while entering the temple.

Speaking on the issue, minister Poojary said, "We have got many proposals from various temples across the state with regards to the dress code of devotees while visiting those temples. In addition, some organizations have also given their suggestions. We have to have a discussion on this and then take a decision in coming days.

"There is Dharmika Parishad meeting on January 20 and 21. We will come to a decision during this meeting. In addition, we will also seek advice from the officials of the Muzrai department,” he said.

We were born without a dresscode and when we die, our soul will depart this earth without a dresscode. All the holy books of this materialistic world says that God doesn't differentiate, so who are we to impose restrictions? Remember Kanakadas was deprived of entering the temple, but his devotion made Lord Krishna himself to turn towards Kanakadas.

How can men enter any holy place wearing western outfit ?

Now whom are you blaming for this change ?

Big-Boss, Iran/Afghanistan have their own dress code, that is why these INDIAN groups reminding us that we too should have ours own. All I am asking is, why were they silent when it evolved to this extent that it has to be toned (tamed) down now.

Let those who eveloed ask, who are you (groups) or, what authority do you over us, to control our dress style ! No, I'm not asking, nor I have any problem with whatever, whoever wears.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal (BD) their advice should surely be taken. Sale of Alcohol and non veg food should be banned for a radius of atleast 10km. Carrying mobiles in and around the temple should also be banned or jammers should be installed.

If the department of Muzrai, which control the affairs of major temples of the state, is thinking of introducing dress codes; it's their prerogative.
I think people who are not affected any way by these, shouldn't pass adverse comments, as a person of discipline !
