Indian passport 84th most powerful in world, no need of prior visa for 58 countries

Daijiworld Media Network - New Delhi (MS)

New Delhi, Jan 11: According to the data published by International Air Transport Association (IATA), a company by the name Henley & Partners has revealed the power of passports of various counties across the globe.

The power of a passport is determined by the number of countries the holder of that passport can visit without a prior visa. India is ranked 84th in the list with 58 countries that can be visited without the need for a prior visa on Indian passport. However, India has dropped two positions down from 82 in 2019 to 84 in 2020. Japan is the top nation in the list with an access of free visa to more than 191 countries in the world.

The list of top ten countries includes in ranking order for one to 10 Japan (1), Singapore (2), Germany and South Korea (3), Finland and Italy (4), Denmark, Luxembourg and Spain (5), France and Sweden (6), Austria, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal and Switzerland (7), Belgium, Greece, Norway, UK and USA (8), Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Malta and New Zealand (9), Hungary, Lithuania and Slovakia (10).

The passport of China is more powerful than India and is ranked at 71st position. India is ranked 84th along with countries like Mauritania and Tajikistan. While the passport of Afghanistan is the worst passport in terms of power in the world, that of Pakistan is fourth worst from the bottom.

The 58 countries which allow Indian passport holders free access include Bhutan, Indonesia, Macao, Cambodia, Myanmar, Maldives, Nepal, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Mauritius etc. Some among these may ask an Indian passport holder to get visa-on-arrival.

The world's worst passport list includes (starting from the bottom) Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Pakistan and Somalia, Yemen, Libya, Nepal and Palestinian Territory, North Korea and Sudan, Kosovo and Lebanon, Bangladesh, Congo, Eritrea and Iran.

There is nothing new about this fact.
This has been the case since very long time.
Filipinos can obtain 60 days visa on arrival to india, while the so called Powerful Indian passport holders need to apply for visa in advance to enter Philippines.
Besides, Filipinos have more than 60 countries allowing visa free/visa on arrival facility.
I wonder why India doesn't demand same treatment with Filipinos, when it comes to Indians travelling to Philippines.
    Jai Hind!!!!!

Well....Indian passport is powerful, it was, it is and it will be always, but in India, due to some uneducated policy makers it became "POWER LESS". As our so called motubai HM, Passport is not a proof of citizenship and this is first in the world saying PP is not the proof of citizenship. GOD SAVE my (our) INDIA.

Visa is required for most countries except perhaps Nepal...Bhutan also requires some kind of per-registration for visit to Bhutan...despite talk of 5 trillion, vishwa guru etc. Indian passport is not exactly symbol of pride in international airports... so also our currency does not have much respect in international airports...

Indian passport 84th most powerful in world, but entire state of Assam regardless of religion has to proved their identity even though they have the valid passport for that valid birth certificate has been produced.
Now the entire India need to do so. But for Muslim population of India that is third largest population of the world worst nightmare is just started.
Perhaps India is the only nation in the world National Identity of 'Adhara Card' in which finger print and facial recognition has been given is not considered to valid document to prove his identity.
Interestingly, voters ID that elected the MLA's and MP's is still valid but not as citizen's proof.

To date no one knew why the government gave the tag of 'doubtful voters' instead of 'doubtful citizen'?

Republic of India 84 rank in the world. But has lost its own value in its own country.

    Jai Hind

NEW DELHI: Indian Army troops do not have snow glasses and multi-purpose boots to wear and requisite sanctioned food to eat in high altitude areas in Siachen and Ladakh, thus exposing them to inclement weather causing ailments due to extreme cold conditions, the Controller General of India reported (News in Indian papers)
After taking 1.76 lakh crores, govt is seeking another dividend from RBI, since tax revenue is less than expected, as per reports.

Assam has 19 lakh out of NRC, out of which 14 lakhs are Hindus. When we have NRC throughout India, it is expected 3 crore people will be out of NRC. If one is out of NRC, he will be sent to detention centres. Passport will be confiscated.

But, will India has resources to build detention centres for 3 crore people and to feed them ? But anyway they will not be in unemployed list.
