Kuwait: MCA celebrates Christmas with joyful event

Kuwait, Dec 30: Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA), Kuwait, celebrated its first anniversary along with ‘Nathalancho Dabazo 2019’ on December 20 at Indian Community School, Khaitan - Kuwait.

All guests were welcomed with sprinkling of rose water and offering of pan pod udaak. The celebration commenced with euphonious Christmas carols sung by Anil Laveena Pais couple and team.

The traditional Divo was lit by Anil Pais (Founder of MCA) and the guests of honour Lucy Lobo Aranha, Anil D'Souza and Jason D'Cunha along with the committee members. The guests were welcomed with bouquet of flowers.



Precilla Rodrigues and team led the gathered guests into prayer while Anil Pais and team continued with devotional hymns.

Naveen Cedric D'Sa (President, MCA) gave a warm welcome speech and also gave a brief on MCA's mission and vision. Lucy also enhanced the evening with her inspiring words.

Live band by ALP MUSIC and team enhanced the evening with their collection of songs. The audience were entertained by traditional folk dance performed by ladies and children's dance with fusion of songs.

Heart touching Konkani drama ‘Bogsannem’ with social morals written and directed by Ida Lobo, was presented. Santa's entry excited the children. Goodies were distributed to the kids.

Lucy Lobo Aranha, Lionel Ajekar and Rajesh Fernandes mesmerized the crowd with their jokes and thunderous laughter in the hall.

Ida Lobo explained the mission and vision of MCA and also its activities in the past one year since its existence.

Christmas hamper draw was conducted and sponsored by Shirly.

Lancy Pais recited the grace before dinner. The appetizing Mangalurean dinner was served.

Sagar Castelino (Vice President, MCA) rendered the vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by Arvin D'souza and well supported by the committee members. Volunteers’ in-charge Lenon Peris and Micheal Monteiro also co-ordinated.

MCA also thanked Allan Cardoza and Joyston D'Souza for capturing the whole event, James Paul for his video and promotion of the event on Canara World Kuwaity.com, for delicious dinner served by China Metro, and Shruthalaya for providing lights and sound. The programme was well compered by Deepak Andrade. They also thanked and appreciated the sponsors.

MCA committee members left no stone unturned in bringing the culture from homeland to touch the hearts of its members in Kuwait and assured to continue in the future.
