Mangaluru, Dec 14: "The country is today being ruled by the 'tukde tukde gang' which is trying to divide the country by enforcing the Citizenship Amendment Act and NRC. The policy of ‘divide and rule’ that began before the dawn of independence is being misused by those holding the reigns of the country today," alleged All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) national chief secretary Amarjeet Kaur.

Speaking at a press conference here, she said that the politics of divide-and-rule had begun since RSS started in 1925. "They (RSS) used to get religious donations then and are getting them even now. Mohammed Ali Jinnah had adopted the two-nation theory advocated by V D Savarkar. The politics of dividing the country by this group is continuing even after independence. The same tukde tukde gang is in power now," she alleged.

"The economic condition of the country is collapsing from day to day and the situation is turning serious. Instead of rectifying it, the union government is trying to divert the attention of the people through NRC and Citizenship Amendment Act. The Japanese government has refused to visit the country after the passage of the Act. The United States has opposed it saying that it is discriminatory. People will be facing more problems after the implementation of this unconstitution bill. Such a bill that divides the people should be withdrawn immediately," said Kaur.

"The government is changing labour laws to protect the interests of big businessmen by breaking the unity of workers. About 90% of the 56 crore workers are deprived of social security due to wrong economic policies and anti-worker policies. We are not against the amendment of labour acts but the government is enacting laws that are against the interest of workers," she said.

Kaur further said, "Nearly ten lac micro and small industries are closed due to demonetisation. Modi government had came to power promising creation of two crore jobs but five crore people have lost jobs during the last five years of Modi government. Production rate of vehicles has decreased by 35% after implementation of GST. Textiles and IT sectors also have reached a deplorable state. Industrial hubs in the country have become unstable. Public airports are being handed over to Adani company. The government is preparing to privatize several government businesses including BPCL. It has merged BSNL and MTNL and sent 79,000 employees home. The government is trying to divert attention of the people from these anti-people activities with the Citizenship Amendment Act, abolition of Article 370 and the Ayodhya verdict. Those who oppose their plans are being targeted."

Thinker Dr Srinivas Kakkilaya, CPI Dakshina Kannada and Udupi chief secretary V Kukian, AITUC district secretary H V Rao were present.

Wow !!! A very smart move by Japanese government to avoid coming to India due to the NRC and the Citizen Amendment Act. Anticipating that this is a wrong time to go to India, this is what I call sheer professionalism and far sightedness approach. Just imagine how they know that the timing is not correct. Contrast to that .... our useless good for nothing bhakts want to play the communal card for their social vested interest. That's the major difference of an angoota chaaaap and learned bureaucrats. I will not be surprised they wouldnt mind backing out of the highly controversial bullet train project.

Worse than the economic idiocies of the BJP are the BJP's social policies. CAB is aggravating fears among the communities of the North east Indian states that a Bangladeshi influx will endanger their identity. Kashmir is in a state of disaffection. BJP policies have a high probability of leading to the break up of India. Tukde tukde gang is indeed ruling the country today.

Almeida, Andheri, why you are talking about irrelevant topic. Comment on this article if you have the guts. Rahul Gandhi may not be popular among illiterates but I can say he is a far better human being than the clan that is ruling India and bringing the name of "once upon a time" respectable name to gutter level. Try to remain true to yourself if not for others.

The Shiv Sena, which is an ally of the Congress in Maharashtra, has reacted strongly to Rahul Gandhi's jibe 'My name is not Rahul Savarkar.'
Sena leader Sanjay Raut took to Twitter to send out a clear message to the Congress that there cannot be any compromise on reverence to Savarkar.

Beautiful expression of the reality today. But everything happens for good. Now people started to realize their mistake. The most honest of the lot Dr Manmohan singh, said that, I honestly believe that history will be kinder to me than the contemporary media, or for that matter, the Opposition parties in Parliament. The biggest problem that India is facing today is the irresponsible and the unethical media. You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.

This lady is afraid that her party "CPI /M has become irrelevant and has no representative from WB where once they were ruling. That pain is visible in her speech.
