Udupi: Trinity Central School holds 11th annual day celebrations

Udupi, Dec 12: Under the glistening sun and the pleasant evening breeze, the grounds and portals of Trinity Central School welcomed one and all for the 11th annual day celebrations held on December 7, with open arms and joyous hearts.

At first, the chief guest of the event, Dr Ullas Kamath, dean, Melaka Medical Science College, Manipal accompanied by Fr Robin D’Souza, president of the function, were given a thumping and resounding welcome to the beats of the traditional chande. Joining them in their august presence, were also Fr Claud Mascarenhas, guardian of Trinity Vihar, Fr Anil D’Costa, principal, Fr Ravi Rajesh Serrao, vice–principal and administrator, Krishnan Sridharan, PTA president and Magdelina Lewis, Archana Shetty and Poornima Devadiga, academic co-ordinator, Pre-Primary Section head and activity co-ordinator respectively.



The formal programme commenced with a beautifully ethereal welcome dance performance by the students. This was followed by the invocation of Prayer led in mellifluous melody by the choir under the musical guidance of Fr Jason Pais.

‘Family, where life begins’ was the accorded theme of this year’s annual day celebrations. The chief guest along with the other dignitaries inaugurated the annual theme, by unveiling and opening the screen to the beautifully constructed home, where all our families live, as one which portrayed through puppets.

The annual school report is a crowning glory of any annual day event. Magdalina Lewis presented the annual school report, with able eloquence detailing in depth of, and about the school’s achievements in various academic and co-curricular events / sports and other disciplines, and also of the school’s future plans.

‘Success is the result of perseverance and perfection’. Students who excelled in academic and sports disciplines were awarded with Proficiency Prizes and Sports Championships, respectively. Maimuna Khairunisa of Grade 10 was awarded the ‘Best Outgoing Student Award – 2019’.

Maimuna the school SPL proposed the vote of thanks, which drew curtain to formal stage programme and commencement of cultural events.

The students of Trinity put on their dancing shoes came to the fore, with their acting skills by performing various programmes during the cultural fiesta of the annual day.

Keeping in mind the annual theme, students of the higher classes highlighted the importance of family, parents, grandparents through dramatic acts in English and Kannada.

Apart from all the foot-tapping dances presented by the kindergarten, pre-primary and primary grade students, the real icing on the celebratory cake was the Chande dance that was performed with great perfection, and the Final Fusion Dance which was the proverbial cherry on the top.

Trinity Central School was honoured to have K Raghupathi Bhat, MLA of Udupi constituency who made a brief presence during the cultural programme. In his brief speech, he congratulated the school for the tremendous growth and success that it has achieved since its foundation.

Overall, the 11th annual day celebrations of Trinity Central School was a grand success and was much appreciated by guests, parents and well-wishers.
