Cong accuses Kerala CM of shielding IAS officer

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 12 (IANS): The Congress party in Kerala on Thursday alleged that the office of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was shielding a top IAS officer against whom two young women IAS officers had raised a complaint of sending messages on their mobile phones in the middle of the night.

This allegation surfaced after the senior IAS officer was, on Wednesday, moved from a crucial government department, which was directly under the Chief Minister, and given the charge of an unimportant department.

Congress leader Jyothikumar Chamakala told the media that the parents of the women officers had met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

"We wish to know from Vijayan why he has not taken any action and just by mere shifting from one department to another won't suffice," said Chamakala.

The social media have also taken this silence by Vijayan strongly as the Left has always claimed to uphold women's rights and the need for renaissance of women.
