Mangaluru, Dec 9: At the MSME Conclave and Business Excellence Award 2019 event, a programne organized under the joint auspices of K S Hegde Institute of Management NITTE and Karnataka Bank Limited, the award of ‘Emerging Young Entrepreneur’ was conferred on Wahaj Yusuf, the managing director of In-Land Engineering Industries Pvt Ltd, makers of InGlaze facades and fenestrations.
The award was presented by Prof Dr Satheesh Kumar Bhandary, vice chancellor, NITTE University, in a glittering ceremony that took place at Hotel Ocean Pearl in the city on December 7.
The NITTE-KBL Conclave and Business Excellence Awards have been jointly instituted by the Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management, NITTE and Karnataka Bank Ltd. It selects the most distinguished achievers from among the state's Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to recognize and honour their outstanding achievements in business.
Speaking after receiving the award, Wahaj Yusuf, who is a qualified architect, said, “I am indeed delighted with this recognition that comes from two of Karnataka's most respected organizations that are known for their integrity and service to the state. Awards such as these will go a long way in motivating young people like me who take the challenging path of entrepreneurship. I have actually learnt as much at this one day conclave as I have in two-three years of doing business. That’s how impactful this well organized event proved to be. The topics covered were very informative, especially the finance related modules, which is always a complex subject.” Wahaj also thanked S S Nayak, one of Mangaluru’s leading chartered accountants, for being a valuable mentor in his professional life and his father, Siraj Ahamed, chairman of the In-land Group, for his unwavering guidance and support.
