K'taka bypoll results: Wave in BJP's favour, says Goa CM

Panaji, Dec 9 (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) surge in the Karnataka bypoll results shows that there is a countrywide wave in favour of the saffron party, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Monday.

"There is a countrywide wave in favour of the BJP. And, after this election too, the BJP will win in a big way," Sawant told reporters, when asked for a comment on the BJP's performance in the bypolls in the neighbouring state.

The BJP was in a comfortable lead in the 15 Assembly bypolls, which were held on December 5.

The performance is expected to help the BJP cross the halfway mark easily.
