UAE traffic authorities announce new rule for motorists

Daijiworld Media Network - Abu Dhabi (SHP)

Abu Dhabi, Dec 1: The right lane on King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Street in Abu Dhabi is no longer available for motorists from December 1.

In a Twitter announcement, the Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols declared that the lane is exclusively for the emergency vehicles and public transports.

The rule applies to vehicles plying on both directions on the street. If motorists are found breaking the law, they will be liable to pay a fine of Dh400, stated the police.

UAE authorities in the past have launched awareness drives to ensure emergency vehicles are given way.
