Dubai: 5 Arabs arrested for using WhatsApp to sell drugs

Dubai, Nov 24: Dubai Police have arrested five Arab nationals for promoting the sale of illegal drugs through social media.
 
Maj-Gen Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansoori, assistant commander for the criminal investigation affairs at the Dubai Police, stated that the gang used social media, especially WhatsApp, to gain access to youngsters.
 
 
One of the five arrested included a banker who facilitated the transfer of the drug money. The men would sell the drugs and then transfer the money to their superior who resided in a different country. The Dubai police were monitoring the gang's activities and put in action 'Operation 12' to arrest the other four gang members.
