Mangaluru, Nov 16: Shakthi PU College and Shakthi Residential School at Shakthinagar, here celebrated Kanakadasa Jayanti on November 15. Keshava Bangera, the Kannada lecturer, Shree Narayana Guru College was the chief guest on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering he said that Kanakadasa through his literary work fought against social evils. He said that no one was born high caste or low caste. Man himself made these compartments. There is no injustice in the land of the Almighty. Bangera told the students to follow the path tread by Kanakadaasa.



K C Naik, the managing trustee of Shree Gopala Krishna Temple presided over the function. Baikady Janardana Achar, the administrator of Shakthi Education Trust, Ramesh K, chief advisor, Prakyath Rai, institute development officer, Basavesh of ABVP, Prabhakara G S, principal of Shakthi PU College, Vidya Kamath G, principal of Shakthi Residential School were present.

Shashikala M N, lecturer in Kannada Shakthi PU College spoke about Kanakadasa on the occasion. Preethi Keekana welcomed the gathering, Rekha Baikady proposed the Vote of thanks. Srinidhi Abhyankar compered the programme.
