Karkala: Man loots money from young girl in guise of policeman

Karkala, Nov 15: In an incident that occurred on November 13, Vidya (21), a resident of Mangaluru, who had come for sightseeing at Anekere near here was subjected to extortion by a man, who posed as a
policeman.

Vidya had come to sightseeing with her friend Dheeraj. A man who approached the couple threatened them and said that he will slap a case on them, if Vidya does not give him the gold ring on her finger. The couple did not agree for this and gave the fake policeman Rs 700.

After taking Rs 700 from the girl, the accused demanded more money and asked the victim Vidya to sit on his bike and took her to a nearby ATM and took Rs 1,000 from her.

A complaint in this regard is filed by the victim at Karkala city police station.

    Rita german i do know that its a free country and not any ones business to mind some one..but the problem is that todays couples are cowards and are insecure ..which the fake police took advantage of he did not had any weapons..and when a police man ask for ring

    Crasto Udipi,it matters little what they were sightseeing or something else.Its none of a noones business to control as fake police and rob.we are in a free country to go around and do which ones pleases.except criminality.They should have noted the number of his bike to help to find him.It was very risky to ride with a strangers bike.Thank God she escaped with only money but was safe .

    when all this was happening ,what was that man deeraj doing ,just was standing silent watching the show , couldnt he ask for proof of that man that he was a police ? isnt vidya educated lady , or was out of sence .its we are self surrendering for all this kind activities.

    EVEN IF THE CHEAT WAS A GENUINE POLICEMAN
    OR A MORAL POLICING FANATIC, THE COUPLE
    SHOULD HAVE TOLD THE GUY TO TAKE A WALK,
    AND TO SLAP A CASE ON HIS BACKSIDE INSTEAD.

    A SIMILAR INCIDENT OCCURED TO US NEAR THE OLD
    TALUK OFFICE BUS STOPS IN UDUPI - ONE WELL DRESSED
    MAN APPROACHED US SPEAKING IN HINDI ASKING FOR
    RS.100.- BUS FARE TO BHATKAL AS HE HAD FORGOTTEN
    HIS ADHAAR CARD AT HOME AND HE WAS LOOKING FOR
    A JOB IN UDUPI. I BOLDLY ASKED HIM TO TAKE A WALK,
    AND PERHAPS HE DID. -

    YOU CAN FIND CHEATS IN INDIA IN ALL GUISES - SO BEWARE
    - WE ALL ARE LIVING IN A BAD BAD WORLD! AND YOU ALONE
    MUST DEFEND YOURSELF. THE POLICE ARE NEVER AROUND TO
    DRAW THEIR ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY, AS THEY ARE FOREVER
    ON BANDOBUST FOR THOSE GOOD FOR NOTHING MPs, MLAs, ETC.

    BELIEVE ME, IN INDIA, IF ONE DOES NOT TAKE PROMPT REFLEX ACTION,
    EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO KILL THEM, CRIME WILL NOT STOP IF YOU APPROACH
    THE LAW

    - CHECK OUT THE AMOUNT OF CRIMINAL CASES ,AND THE CRIMINALS ROAMING
    AROUND FREELY ON BAIL AND ONE WOULD BE SHOCKED TO NOTE THE
    STATE OF AFFAIRS OF THE INDIAN JUDICIARY!

    First our Police must give punishment to that fake Police person immediately after arrest. At the same time Police must call the parents of Vidya and Dheeraj. I think that they are roaming with out informing their parents. This must be a alarming bell to those who do this type of behavior. And Police must give their details in TV and newspapers with photos. If Police do this then it will be a great job.
