Mumbai: TV director arrested for duping man of Rs 1 crore

Mumbai, Nov 14: A voice-over head was conned of Rs 1 crore by a TV director. The accused promised of giving the victim the post of a film producer.

The accused identified as Rahul Gaikwad, resident of Saat Bangla in Andheri was arrested on Monday by the NM Joshi police for cheating against a case filed on him.

The victim Rishikesh Kerkar came in contact with Gaikwad who claimed that there was a TV project in the pipeline and wanted to discuss Kerkar's involvement in it.

"In 2016, Gaikwad told Kerkar that he should have at least Rs 1 crore in the bank as security, to produce a movie or serial. Under the pretext of removing a producer, he took Rs 1 crore," said a police officer.
