Delhi BJP website hacked by Pakistani hackers

New Delhi, Nov 2 (IANS): The website of BJP's Delhi unit was on Saturday hacked by suspected Pakistani hackers, who defaced the page and posted abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A hacker group called _Muhammad Bilal TeAM [PCE] has claimed that it has hacked the website with a message like "Ghar main ghuss kar marain gy (will beat after entering the house) and "I can lie a lot, can I also get a ‘Vir Chakra' like Abhinandan" with an email ID - catch.if.you.can@hotmail.com.

The hacker also posted a visibily-photoshopped picture having Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman and some police personnel, with a caption saying that "27 Feb yad hai na" (remember February 27?).

The hacker posted another message, which read: "filmain banao larna tumhary bus ki bat nahi #27Feb2019 (make films, you cannot fight)"

The reference to February 27 was ostensibly to the downing of a MiG fighter plane by Pakistani forces while the Indian Air Force jets were chasing away the Pakistani fighter planes when they attempt to breach Indian air space.

Abhinandan, flying MiG Bison, shot down a Pakistani F-16 in the aerial dogfight but in the process, he crossed into Pakistan territory where his fighter plane was shot down and he was taken into custody, to be released two days later. Abhinandan was conferred the Vir Chakra gallantry award in August 2019.

As the website was hacked, now delhi.bjp.org is automatically routed to its main website bjp.org.

In May this year, the website of the BJP's Delhi unit was hacked with photos of beef dishes posted on it.

In May this year, the website of the BJP's Delhi unit was hacked with photos of beef dishes posted on it.
Since then 'Beef' export becomes increased. Pakistani hacking BJP website can have no damage rather than they may have access to some photoshop pictures and fake news.

But real worry for Indians is the WhatsApp snooping of human rights activists and journalists in India via Israeli spyware called Pegasus has snowballed into a major political controversy. Pegasus allegedly exploited WhatsApp's video calling system by installing the spyware via giving missed calls to snoop on 1,400 select users globally, including nearly 30-40 people in India.

The owner of Pegasus, Israel-based NSO Group, limits the sale of the spyware to state intelligence agencies and others as it has the ability to collect intimate data from a target device. Pegasus software can be installed on devices as "exploit links". The Indian government has denied purchasing or planning to buy Pegasus from NSO Group.

Mass surveillance tech just needs a missed call to hack you. Once Pegasus is installed, it begins contacting the operator's command and control (C&C) servers to receive and execute operators' commands, and send back the target's private data, including passwords, contact lists, calendar events, text messages, and live voice calls from popular mobile messaging apps.

"The operator can even turn on the phone's camera and microphone to capture activity in the phone's vicinity, and use the GPS function to track a target's location and movements," said Citizen Lab.

This is a clear violation of the Supreme Court's 2016 judgment of the Right to privacy. Unfortunately very few mass media interested in the citizen of India's interest and their privacy protection.
