Kasargod, Oct 19: "The public of Kerala will never allow a communal political party to come to power. It is really appreciable that intelligent voters of Kerala are discarding BJP and exhibiting secularism in every election. No political party can defeat UDF candidate in the Manjeshwar bye-election," opined former CM of Karnataka Siddaramaiah.

Siddaramaiah spoke at the campaign meetings for UDF candidate M C Khamaruddin at Perla, Paivalike and Varkadi Majir Palla under Majeshwar legislative constituency.

Siddaramaiah further said, "The people of Kerala always wish to live in peace and harmony. The voters are making sure that BJP does not raise its communal head in the state. That is why they are showing support to UDF.

"Communist party is in its last stages in the country. In West Bengal and Tripura, the party has completely routed by the public. In Kerala also, the communist party is going to lose its presence in the coming days. In the last Lok Sabha elections, UDF has given a clear message to the country by winning 19 out of the 20 seats in Kerala.

"BJP is discarded by the public. In Kerala BJP does not have strength. In South India, Kerala is the state which has not allowed BJP to grow. BJP is a party which comes to power by playing the religious cards and dividing the society. It is showing its demoniacal powers in many states of the country. But in Kerala it has completely failed. The reason for this is the secular feeling of the Keralites.

"This country is not inhabited by people of one religion. This is called as a subcontinent as it has several caste, religion and languages. Congress has received a temporary setback. But the government of Modi is misleading the citizens of this country. Instead of concentrating on poor people and farmers of the country, BJP is trying to play with the emotions of the public by playing the cards of Pakistan, Balakot, Chadrayaan and Jammu and Kashmir.

"The contribution of the Modi government in the last five years is a big zero. The issues of farmers, unemployment, labourers and poor section of the society are not resolved. The financial state of the country is marching towards insolvency. People are dying due to lack of food.

"I am always ready to protect the Kannadigas who are living in the borderlands. The Kannadigas of this area and the Malayalees are like the children of the same mother,” he said.

UDF candidate M C Khamaruddin, MP Mohan Unnithan, former minister U T Khader, Ramanath Rai, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Pramod Madhwaraj, Ivan D'Souza, Mithun Rai, Shakunthala Shetty, Hakim Kunnil, J Somshekhar, Harshad Varkady, P K Kunhalikutty, Mohiuddin Bava, Kavita Sanil and other leaders were present.
