Kundapur: Historial Gulvadi weekly market inaugurated

Kundapur, Oct 18: "The land of Gulvadi is full of fragrance. The raw rice that is grown here is better than any Basumati variety of rice. It is really heartening to know that the weekly market has started here again. Interested people should think of selling Bannur mutton at least two days in a week," opined B M Sukumar Shetty, MLA of Byndoor.
 
Sukumar was speaking after inaugurating the historical weekly market in Gulvadi on Friday, October 18. He further said, "Tender is called for Soukoor drip irrigation project at the cost of 74 crore. Seven villages in the vicinity of the project will get drinking water because of this. Rs 1.5 crore is sanctioned for the development of Neralakatte-Mavinaguli road. The development work of Kudru road is also going to begin soon. I have brought a grant of Rs 270 crore in two months time for the constituency of Byndoor."
 




























































































 
The programme was presided over by Jyoti M, member of zilla panchayat. APMC president Sharath Kumar Shetty, taluk panchayat member Satish Poojary, Gulvadi gram panchayat vice president G P Mohammed, Managing director of Ramson Tiles Balakrishna P Bhandary, retired general manager of Vijaya Bank Divakar Hegde, managing director of Prabhakiran Tiles Gulvadi Prashanth Tolar, president of Gulvadi Mehraj Jumma Masjid G Sardar Hajee, president of Gulvadi Al-Badri Jumma Masjid G M Chariyabba Hajee, Deepak Kumar Shetty Byndoor, lawyer Sharath Kumar Shetty Gulvadi, former president of Karkunje gram panchayat Narayana Madiwala, president of Gulvadi villagers Hitharakahana Vedike S Prakashchandra Shetty Soukoor Gulvadi and village development officer Vanitha Shedthi were present.
 
G Saradar Hajee welcomed the gatherin and did the introductory speech. Palli Usman rendered the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by S D Ganesh.
