Karkala: Two houses, government school damaged in rain, storm

Karkala, Oct 17: Two houses near Kokaikal in Palli gram panchayat limits and Palli government higher primary school are immensely damaged in heavy rain and strong wind here on Tuesday, October 15.

An uprooted tree fell on the house of Kokaikal resident Vasanti breaking cement sheet of the roof and causing cracks on the wall. About 300 roof tiles of the house of Bhasker Poojary flew off and wooden beams are damaged. Nearly 200 roof tiles of Palli government higher primary school were broken and the school toilet suffered partial damages when an uprooted tree fell on it.



Several trees are uprooted due to strong wind in Palli gram panchayat limits. However, there was no loss of life. Village accountant Guru Prasad and village assistant Sunder visited the area and took stock of the situation.
