Bengaluru: Police arrest notorious interstate thief – Recover 17 kg gold worth Rs 5 crore

Bengaluru, Oct 16: Police personnel here arrested a notorious thief who had buried 17 kilograms of gold. The loot was recovered by the police.

The thief, who is known for house thefts is identified as Murugan, a resident of Tamil Nadu. Bommanahalli station police arrested him and seized 17 kilograms gold worth Rs five crore. Police from three states were on the lookout for Murugan over thefts in Tamil Nadu, Tiruchirappalli, Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru. He was finally nabbed by Bommanahalli station police.

Police had worked hard to find him as he was an interstate thief. He had dug and buried all the gold stolen by him in the forests in Tiruchirappalli. Murugan confessed committing the crime.

Police took him to the spot where the ornaments were buried and seized all the loot.
