Randhawa, Rashid among many at Jaipur Open golf meet


Jaipur, Sep 23 (IANS): Jyoti Randhawa and Rashid Khan will be the big names vying for top honours when the Jaipur Open gets underway here on Tuesday.

TATA Steel Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) and the Rajasthan State Sports Council will be jointly staging the event.

The third edition of the tournament, carrying a prize purse of Rs. 30 lakhs, will be played at the Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur from September 24-27.

The Pro-Am event will be played on September 28.

The tournament will feature some of the leading Indian professionals such as Randhawa (a winner of nine international titles and former Asia No. 1), Rashid (2019 TATA Steel PGTI Order of Merit leader), Asian Tour regulars Aman Raj (defending champion), Chiragh Kumar and Abhijit Singh Chadha.

The prominent foreign names are those of Sri Lanka's N Thangaraja, Australia's Kunal Bhasin and Bangladesh's Md Dulal Hossain.

The Jaipur-based professionals in the field are Vishal Singh, Hemendra Choudhary, Mahesh Yadav, Yogendra Kumawat and Kamal Kumawat. The field also features Jaipur-based amateurs Siddharth Sharma and Shakti Singh.
