Mangaluru: SJEC wins overall third place in VTU Single Zone Wrestling Championship

Mangaluru, Sep 20: The men’s and women’s wrestling and judo teams of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), here, participated in VTU Single Zone Wrestling Championship held at SJCIT, Chikballapur, on September 6 and 7 and ended up winning third place in the championship.

The following were the achievements of the team:
• Thejas H from second year MCA secured first place in below 61 kg category wrestling championship
• Mohammed Ismail Jaseem from first year Mechanical Engineering secured second place in below 57 kg category wrestling championship
• Nibin Binu from third year Mechanical Engineering secured third place in below 97 kg category wrestling championship
• Muhammad Fayaz from fourth year mechanical engineering secured third place in below 92 kg category wrestling championship
• Sharul Jose from third year Civil Engineering secured fourth place in below 70 kg category wrestling championship
• Venilla Manikanta from third year Civil Engineering secured first place in below 44 kg category Judo Championship
