Puttur: Car hits culvert near Gundia - Driver killed on spot

Puttur, Sep 20: The driver of a car who was moving towards Puttur lost control over the car which he was driving when passing from near Goddess Chowdeshwari temple at Gundia in Shiradi village on Mangaluru - Bengaluru national highway 75. In the accident which happened on Thursday, September 19, the driver of the car was killed instantly.

The deceased was Nagaraj (60), resident of Jalahalli, Bengaluru. Haumanth (26), also from Jalahalli, Bengaluru, suffered injuries and was lucky to survive the accident.

Nagaraj was coming to Puttur in his Swift D'Zire car when the car hit a culvert near Goddess Chowldeshwari temple on district border. Hanumanth, who suffered injuries to his head and some other parts of the body, was working as an assistant to Nagaraj, it is said. He was treated at the hospital at Nalyady.

A case about this accident was registered in Uppinangady police station.
