Lizzo apologises for accusing delivery girl of stealing food

Los Angeles, Sep 18 (IANS): Rapper Lizzo has posted a public apology on social media for accusing a food delivery girl of stealing her food.

Earlier on Monday, the rapper had claimed on Twitter that a Postmates delivery driver had stolen her food, reports "complex.com".

"Hey @Postmates this girl Tiffany W. stole my food, She lucky I don't fight no more," read the tweet, which has now been deleted.

Lizzo's tweet received a huge backlash from Twitterati. People slammed the "Truth Hurts" hitmaker for publicly shaming the delivery person.

Later, Lizzo realised her mistake and issued a public apology.

She tweeted: "I apologise for putting that girl on blast. I understand I have a large following and that there were so many variables that could've put her in danger. I should really be more responsible with my use of social media and check my petty and my pride at the door."
