Panaji: Man booked for kidnapping teenager on pretext of job offer

Panaji, Sep 16: A Tamil Nadu based travel agent was arrested by Colva police on Friday for allegedly kidnapping a 23-year-old girl on the pretext of providing her a job. The Colva police rescued the girl from a fuel pump in Colva.

As per police, the girl was standing outside the nationalised bank at Mapusa, when the accused approached her in his car. He offered her a job and asked her to get into the car to discuss further about the job. When the girl got into the car, the accused drove the vehicle to Colva. Smelling something fishy on the man’s behavior, the girl called the Colva police to rescue her when the accused stopped his car at a fuel pump near Colva.

The police reached the spot and rescued her. Meanwhile, her family also reached the police station and filed a complaint. Based on the complaint, police arrested the accused and sent him to custody.
