Mandya: Twenty JD(S) MLAs ready to quit party, says K C Narayana Gowda

Daijiworld Media Network - Mandya (MS)

Mandya, Sep 15: "Twenty MLAs are on their toes to quit JD(S). But I will not disclose their names. I, who was the MLA of JD(S), do not wish the party to get weakened. I am saying this only to alert the JD(S) party leaders to safeguard these MLAs," said disqualified MLA of K R Pet K C Narayana Gowda.

Speaking at a press conference in the city, Narayana Gowda expressed his rage against the Deve Gowda family. He further said, "In a way we are responsible for the contention of Nikhil Kumaraswamy from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency. However, the lies purported by former CM H D Kumaraswamy were responsible for the defeat of Nikhil. The same lies of the former CM pushed us to this situation."

Further accusing the former CM Kumaraswamy, the disqualified MLA said, "He was not allowing the MLAs of the party to sit inside his chamber. MLAs, who used to approach him with their difficulties were asked to come the next day. However, when the said MLA went the next day, the CM will not be present in the office."

Accusing JD(S) supremo and former PM H D Deve Gowda of family politics, Narayana Gowda said, "Former PM Deve Gowda, instead of doing politics for the country, is carrying on family politics. At least now, he should bring his children under his control. During the last elections, he had told me to get the people ready and he will come for the campaigning. At last, he listened to the words of women and turned his helicopter from Arasikere to Bengaluru and did not come for my campaign."

Lashing against former minister H D Revanna, the disqualified MLA said, "The harassment meted out by former PWD minister H D Revanna to the 17 MLAs is the reason for the debacle of the coalition government. As he was meddling in the affairs of all the departments, the MLAs got dejected and quit the party. All the civil contractors of Karnataka know about H D Revanna."

Questioning the non-supportive attitude of Deve Gowda family towards former minister D K Shivakumar, who is presently in the custody of Enforcement Directorate (ED), Narayana Gowda said, "Only time will tell who is responsible for the harassment meted out to D K Shivakumar by the ED. Neither Siddaramaiah nor BJP government are behind the arrest of D K Shivakumar. A plot was hatched against D K Shivakumar from six years. The motive was not to allow D K Shivakumar and the son-in-law of S M Krishna to grow in state politics. No leader of the Vokkaliga community should grow taller than the Deve Gowda family. They do not wish any other Vokkaliga to rise in state politics. If this is not true, why the Deve Gowda family is not responding to the difficulties faced by D K Shivakumar?"
