Chikkamagalur, Sep 15: In a tragic incident that occurred on Saturday, September 14, a farmer, who had lost his house and property in the recent deluge, shot himself as he was distraught by the fact that he did not receive the promised compensation from the government.

Channappa Gowda (65), a resident of Kargadde village near Kalasa in the district is the person who killed himself. He had lost his farmland in the recent deluge as a huge hillock had slid and fallen on his farm.

Though the compensation was assured by the administration, he had not received it. Frustrated by this fact, Channappa shot himself on Saturday.

Issues like Article 370, Pakistan, Imran Khan etc are being raked up by to divert attention from a terrible state of India’s economy and media is hand in glove with government.

If the switch on the news at 9:00 P.M. every 'Godhi Media' is talking about Imran Khan and Pakistan rather than the state of the economy.

I think BJP_RSS has nothing to show rather than blaming Nehru, Gandhi, Indira, and Rahul.

Sadly, once this nation relied on food imports from the United State was made into self-reliance by then Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on the slogan of 'Jai Kisan, Jai Jawan'. Today the same farmers of this nation who made proud of this nation with 'food basket' now struggling to survive.

This farmers suicide once again proved that Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) is the government-sponsored crop insurance scheme another blunder.

Hope God give patience to the kith and kin of the deceased farmer of this nation.
