Moodbidri: MITE's MACx inaugurates year's activities

Moodbidri, Sep 14: Mechatronics and Automation Club for Exploration (MACx) of Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE) on September 13 inaugurated the activities of the year 2019-20.

Chetan Rajdev, sales-head southern region, Hydac, inaugurated the event. Speaking to students, Chetan Rajdev said that one can achieve heights with perseverance, determination, dedication and staying updated with the current trends that the industry is adopting to sustain in current situation of economy. He further added that, Mechatronics students have an edge over other engineering branches as it comprises of diversified knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronics and computer science. He also insisted that students show enthusiasm, have hope, be vigilant and update themselves to achieve greater level of success in life.

Chetan Rajdev, delivered a technical talk on 'New trends in Process Automation: Industry 4.0'. He spoke in length about the various career opportunities for a Mechatronics Engineering student addressing the opportunities available for graduates in an era of fourth Industrial Revolution.



Dr Divakar Shetty, dean academics presided over the function and insisted that students should master time management in order to succeed in life. He appreciated the activities conducted by the MACx and congratulated the students for winning technical events in various institutions across the country.

Prof K Praveen Shenoy, chief coordinator MACx welcomed the dignitaries, Prof Sathyanarayana, HoD of Mechatronics, MITE, presented the annual report which included the events conducted and student achievements over the academic year 2018-2019.

The chief guest presented 'Academic Excellence Award' to the toppers for their outstanding academic performance.

Prof Satyanarayana, felicitated the alumni present during the event for their support and encouragement to the department.

Students from the Mechatronics department recorded two university ranks from VTU, Belagavi in 2018. Students also won 'Best Project Award 2019' from Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) and several other awards during the year 2018-2019.
