Mumbai, Sep 14: A worker died and another injured when an under-construction emergency exit of Mumbai's metro line-3 collapsed on Friday. The employees were working near metro line-3, between Powai and Aarey at a construction site, when the mishap occurred.

“One worker died when a large rock fell on him and the second worker sustained minor injuries,” said officials at the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL).

The two workers were splitting rocks with the help of a machine, that collapsed the emergency exit and a large piece from the tunnel face fell and trapped the two.

MMRCL Contractors and general consultants are investigating further on the mishap.
