Authorities also said lack of periodic maintenance of electrical appliances like air-conditioners since many years has been noted as a fire hazard especially during summer season.

As reported in Khaleej times, First Lieutenant Mohammed Al Hinai from the civil protection department at the General Directorate of Civil Defence said it is important that residents ensure that electricity is installed by experts using 'approved' cables and devices.
