Kundapur, Aug 21: Rajesh Gudigar Balkoor, who makes Lord Ganesh idols for the Ganesh festival thinking that it is a religious service he is doing, is the one who makes the highest number of Ganesh idols in the taluk.

Rajesh makes more than 150 Lord Ganesh idols every year. This year he has completed making of 155 Ganesh idols, for which he got orders in advance. He has makes this idols near the Shishu Mandir of Basrur. Rajesh Gudigar is a wonderful artiste. But his talent is still hidden from public glare.

The art of making the idols of Lord Ganesh is continuing in the family of Rajesh since the time of his grandfather. Rajesh got the skills of making the idols from Mohan Gudigar. His passion towards this skill has made Rajesh to still continue making these idols. He has completed his B Com from Basrur Shri Sharada College in 1993. After that he has even completed Health Inspector diploma. Though he had many opportunities to build up a different career, he chose his family traditional profession of Lord Ganesh idol making. During the rainy season he makes Ganesh idols. Rest of the time of the year, he produces the idols of other Gods and Goddesses, in addition to painting and sculpting.

The mature talent of Rajesh Gudigar comes from his eye for detail and constant study of the art. He gets clear cut idea before making an idol. His passion for the art of idol making, whether it is from the wood or mud, is the result of the stress he gives on the sensation of it. Rajesh does not give more emphasis to readymade models but gives priority to brush art. That is why Rajesh Gudigar is famous in the district of Udupi.

It is not a trivial matter of making 155 Lord Ganesh idols by one person in the taluk of Kundapur. All these are done on demand. Rajesh gets the orders by June and works for more than eight hours a day for the next three months. The making of Lord Ganesh idol required patience and dedication. If dedication, patience and devotion mix together in proper proportion, the result will be an idol of Lord Ganesh, which goes beyond his own expectations.

Rajesh makes Lord Ganesh idols up to a height of five feet. He has got manufacturing centers in Basrur and Koteshwara. 90% of the work of idol is done by Rajesh himself. He makes the idols in various shapes, designs, positions and mythological importance, as per the demands of the customers. He makes Lord Ganesh idol that is seated on a serpent, a lotus flower, a conch, a swan and a rat.

Compared to other districts, the rate of Lord Ganesh idol made by Rajesh is relatively cheaper taking into mind the rate of the clay and the present economic conditions. Some idol makers bargain as if it is business but Rajesh believes that making idols is a service to God.

With regards to the paint, Rajesh uses natural and eco-friendly ones, which do not cause any water pollution and harm to the water creatures. Even with customers, he does not stick to a fixed price but prepared the idol and delivers as if it is a service to society.

The skill and dedication exhibited by Rajesh Gudigar is really commendable. His service to the society should be recognized. The government and respective departments have to identify and honour such rare talents. Only then the art and skill of Rajesh will get a real value. For more information Rajesh can be contacted on his mobile number 7760007701.

    Jesus on Statues.

    Message to John Leary.

    Wednesday, February 27, 2019:...

Jesus said: “My people, you have seen statues and pictures of My Sacred Heart. You usually have a large crucifix of Me on your altars. You also could see statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, and saints of a given church. Sometimes you may see statues of angels around the altar or the tabernacle. There truly are angels adoring and worshiping Me wherever My consecrated Hosts are stored, and during Mass. This is why I call My faithful to make visits to My tabernacle or My exposition in the monstrance, so you can adore Me in silence. You also see an image of Me in pictures of My Divine Mercy by St. Faustina. You can gain graces by praying before this image. When you pray in church, you can try and imitate the lives of the saints and Me. You may see icons of My Blessed Mother and the saints in Eastern Rite Churches. All of these images and statues add beauty and purpose to My churches in addition to My Presence, so be thankful they are in your churches.”

Dan M, May be John Leary got message from wrong direction.
    Bible says,
John 4:23-24 records Jesus saying, " when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth."
Each books of the bible is saying not to do the idol worship
    This is only FYI

Bible = Book Indeed Book of Love Eternal.
Bible = Book Indeed Book of Life Eternal.
Bible = Book Indeed Book of Law Eternal.
Bible = Book Indeed Book of Light (knowledge) Eternal.

Bible = elbib = Eternal life bought in book
Bible = elbib = Ever lasting book in books

Bible = Body Indeed Body of Lamb Eternal.
Bible = Blood Indeed Blood of Lamb Eternal.

Please read Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke in sequence and find Eternal Life in Gospel of John.

Rosary itself is a Bible we contemplate Divine Redemption Mysteries through it.

Jesus on literal interpretation of scriptures.

    Message to Maureen.

    June 7, 2015
    Solemnity of Corpus Christi

"I am your Jesus, born Incarnate."

"To choose to live in the Will of My Father means you must choose to believe in My Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist. I never said the Bread of Life was a symbol or that the wine changed to My Blood was a symbol. If you interpret other parts of Scripture literally, why do you change the rules for this?

    Read Matthew 26:26-28+

Synopsis: Words of Consecration by priest at every Mass changing bread and wine into the Real Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ by means of transubstantiation.

Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My Body." And He took a cup, and when He had given thanks He gave it to them, saying, "Drink of it, all of you; for this is My Blood of the Covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

    Read John 6:52b-57++

"How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the Flesh of the Son of man and drink His Blood, you have no life in you; he who eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My Flesh is food indeed, and My Blood is drink indeed. He who eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me will live because of Me."

    Jesus on a true Crucifix.

    Message to John Leary.

    Thursday, September 6, 2018:...

Jesus said: “My people, I pray that all churches could afford to have a large crucifix placed on the altar. When you have My corpus on the cross, then it is a true crucifix. A cross without My corpus does not convey how much I suffered on My cross. Crosses with a resurrected corpus also do not show My suffering. When you look on My crucifix, this reminds you of how much I love all of you, that I would die for your sins. Give praise and thanks to Me for all I do for you.”
