Bengaluru, Aug 20: The first phase of the expansion of the state ministry is set to take place at 10.30 am on Tuesday August 20. Preparations are on to administer oath of office to 14 to 16 new ministers at a function being held at the Raj Bhavan here.

Although CM, BS Yediyurappa, discussed the matter with the party national president, Amit Shah, and finalized the list of ministers on Saturday, it is said that Shah has issued strict instructions not to leak the list before Tuesday morning. It is clear that the chosen legislators will get call from the CM's office only on Monday morning, and the aspirants would be curiously waiting for the call.

As per information, it has been decided to limit the first phase of ministry expansion to to around 14 to 16 ministers. It is learnt that under the legislative council quota, Kota Srinivas Poojary will be made a minister again. Several MLAs and MLCs will be accommodated in corporations and boards, party sources said.

Yediyurappa has conveyed information to all the legislators to reach Bengaluru by Monday night and many have reached the city by Monday evening. The list finalized by Yediyurappa after holding discussions with Amit Shah, national organizing secretary, B L Santhosh and working president, J P Nadda, was handed over with some alternations by Shah to the Prime Minister on Monday. The letter containing names of people to be made ministers was sent to Yediyurappa after Modi and Shah approved it, it is said.

As the 17 disqualified legislators who had played a leading role in helping BJP to wrest power, are said to be squirming for having been neglected by the BJP. On Monday, these legislators held prolonged discussions on this issue at the residence of Ramesh Jarkiholi. Taken aback by this development, the BJP leaders have planned to take the disgruntled leaders to New Delhi for meeting the party's national leaders with the promise that they would be given suitable positions in future.

K S Eshwarappa, Govind Karjol, R Ashok, Aravind Limbavali, Sriramulu, Balachandra Jarkiholi, J P Madhuswamy, Basavaraj Bommai, Kota Srinivas Poojary, S Angara, Preetham Gowda, Ashwathnarayana, Shashikala Jolle, Halady Srinivas Shetty and former MLA, C P Yogeshwar, are likely to get ministerial positions as per current indications.

In the meanwhile, addressing a press meet, president of Samajika Nyaya Parishat, Anantharayappa, has urged the BJP, which he said came to power because of the backing by the Dalits, to give the post of deputy chief minister to a senior member from Dalit community.
