Bhopal, Aug 19: Rameshwar Gurjar from Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh received immense government support after a video of him running 100 metres barefoot in 11 seconds went viral.

Following the video, Rameshwar who belongs to a farmer's family was contacted by the sports minister of Madhya Pradesh, who called him for a speed test at the TT Nagar Stadium in Bhopal.

"I was looking out for my lost buffaloes when I got the call from the sports minister. I had seen Usain Bolt on TV and I used to think why Indians are not capable to break his record, I am hopeful of breaking it after proper training," Rameshwar said.

The barefoot sprint of Rameshwar was uploaded by the former chief minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, under the caption which read, "India is blessed with talented individuals. Provided with right opportunity & right platform, they'll come out with flying colours to create history! Urge @IndiaSports Min. @KirenRijiju ji to extend support to this aspiring athlete to advance his skills!"

In response to Chouhan's tweet, Rijiju tweeted saying, "Please ask someone to bring him to me. I'll arrange to put him at an athletic academy."

Rameshwar's talent will be first tested by qualified coaches after which he would be enrolled in an athletic academy to be trained by the best.

    If Rameshwar wants to break Ussain Bolts record, his aim is high which is commendable.
    What can support him, can only do so, if he has a good height advantage, I mean about 6' or nearest.
    Let us support him and give him encouragement. Right now, it is too early to predict.

    No offence to anyone. But that diff of 1.5 secs will be only thro diet and exercise...full protein diet (preferably non-fat esp red meat and building muscle mass in key areas) to become tough and big like Usain bolt

    Very good he made it in 11secs, but taken over 90 years for a 100 meter sprinter to improve the time from 10.2 back in the 1920's to Bolt's unbelievable time of 9.58 in 2016. This has been done gradually over the years and nobody I think it's possible in the not too distant future to see somebody hit 9.5, but anything below that would be nearly impossible, to my way of thinking!!

    Just see the arrogance and head weight of the Indian Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju who says 'bring him to me' — does the idiot think he is Lord Falkland where people need to be brought to him? Rijiju you may be sports minister, but you are a servant of the people of this great country,— get off your high horse, go down to Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh and meet with Rameshwar Gurjar!
