Panaji, Aug 17: Goa government has dispatched a team of veterinary doctors and officials to Kolhapur in Maharashtra to treat the cattle who are affected due to the floods in that region.
The nine member team led by Assistant Director of Animal Husbandry Dr S S Betkekar will be helping the local authorities in Kolhapur to treat the cattle, who are affected due to flood that ravaged the areas.
Several farmers and their livestock were affected when villages were inundated.
“As per directions of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, a team of veterinary doctors and officials from Department of Animal Husbandry is being deputed to Kolhapur district of Maharasthra to treat cattle in flood affected areas,” a senior official from Chief Minister’s Office said.
