Bagalkot: Elected representatives should have ‘Common Sense’ - MP Shobha Karandlaje

Daijiworld Media Network - Bagalkot (MS)

Bagalkot, Aug 13: Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje ridiculed the state Congress leaders by saying that the elected representatives should have basic knowledge of things, which is called as 'Common Sense'.

Shobha spoke to the reporters in the city on Tuesday, August 13. She further said, "The people of the state are devastated due to the deluge. During this tragic moment, many Congress leaders of the state including former CM Siddaramaiah and senior leader of Congress Mallikarjun Kharge had a sumptuous meal on the occasion of Eid. I do not know how they thought of partaking in a lavish dinner when the people of the state are in distress.

"All of us have to raise up from party politics in this moment of agony of deluge in the state. It is not humane to say that the government is theirs, let them do the relief work. We need your suggestion and advice. We will accept gracefully the suggestion and cooperation given by you," requested Shobha to the leaders of the opposition parties.

Shobha assured the people of the state by saying, "More than four lac people of the state are homeless due to the deluge. The BJP leaders have conducted aerial survey. However, exact loss can be estimated only after the water level of flood recedes. So the survey needs to be done after few days. For the time being, it is estimated that property worth Rs 40 to 50 thousand crores is destroyed in the floods. The victims will be given compensation as soon as possible."

Responding to the query on the expansion of the cabinet, Shoba said, "National president of BJP Amit Shah had fixed time to discuss this matter. However, due to the sudden demise of former minister Sushma Swaraj, cabinet formation is held up. Still CM Yediyurappa is controlling the flood situation."

"I am not an aspirant for any position. BJP high command and state leaders will discuss and distribute the positions," said MP Shobha, to a query from the scribes about the state BJP president post.

The problem is with us the voters. The entire political fraternity, except for a few handful, lack commonsense. Nikleg mathi ejji, enkleg gathi ejji.

Everyone of you should reflect on your contributions towards your people and their suffering. But you guys turn a blind eye and are busy playing caste politics. Congress BJP JDS are all the same. You take us for granted and appease whoever are in your favour. You give a damn to peoples suffering. If you all were doing your jobs properly, none of you would have to play caste politics. People vote fir you bot based on caste but based on development. Shobha should know that she got votes because if Modiji and not her achievements, which is zero. So now you should have some commonsense.

Show me among elected representatives have any commonsense in them as they are bothered with themselves and not about us who voted them and elected. Did you not see the lengthy drama that has happened in Karnataka. You are also among one of them. Why blame others. Better to keep quiet at the moment. Now one many show is going on. let it go. Correct Shobha Madam...Politicians should have the common Sense to visit their constituency and be with people during their Hours of Crisis like current floods... They should have common sense to what to speak in Parliament.....They Should have a Common Sence to Evaluate the situation , Instead of speaking whats happening in Bangalore when there are own Problems in Own Constituency. They should have a common sense to inform to common public and to the families of fisher men what has happened to Suvarna Thribuja Boat......More Importantly They Should have a Common Sence for accident related Issue Such as Suvarna Tribhuja Boat Mishap ,They Should submit the Memorandum to Home Minister and Not to Finance Minister Just for the sake of a Photograph.

What is the contribution of politicians other than Govt treasury payment? What about traveling expenses of politicians during visit go flood affected areas? Do they spend any thing from their pocket? What's servant of people? What's social worker? what is no corruption? Why can't legalise corruption?0

    Sorry Shobhakka,
Their action can only be characterized as inclusive. It happened to be sumptuous and considering that it was an important day for Muslims, it is perfectly fine. It was not a statutory holiday like Independence day, Republic Day or sort. Sumptuous or not, it is tantamount to re-defining a important day for Muslims with political day. You may be politically correct, probably. However, wherever flood has affected people, it has equally affected everyone without making a difference of whether they are from a particular community. This is what makes your exception politically incorrect. If you are struggling to provide solace to people who are affected, it will get noticed.

How much common sense do BJP leaders have. When dreaded terrorist attack took place in J&K PM Modi was nowhere and busy in the forest shooting a film. When demonetization and GST took place what measure the PM take to improve the economy. When Lynching took place what measures did PM take to stop it. Check your own home and background before advising others.
