Mangaluru: Year-old news about holiday for schools goes viral

Mangaluru Aug 12: Due to heavy rainfall, deputy commissioners of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi had declared holidays for schools and colleges last week for consecutive four days beginning from Wednesday to Saturday. Monday, August 12, was a holiday being Bakrid feast. But now old news of last year has gone viral which claims that Tuesday, August 13 is a holiday. Many have not seen that the news was published last year. 

Last year deputy commissioners of both districts had declared holiday for schools and colleges in the district on August 13, 2018 considering the rains.

The screenshot of last year’s Daijiworld news claiming that August 13 (tomorrow) is a holiday for schools and colleges, is being circulated in social media. It can be noticed in the screenshot that published date is August 13, 2018 at 6:51 pm. 

As of now deputy commissioners of both districts have not declared any holiday for August 13.   Rains too have subsided.
