Panaji: Damages to highways adversely affects supply of meat, vegetables

Daijiworld Media Network – Panaji (EP)

Panaji, Aug 8: Landslides on Chorla Ghat after torrential rainfall and floods this week adversely affected supply of poultry, beef and vegetables in the state.

The short supply of vegetables will affect vegetarians as the Hindu month of Shravan is being observed.

While vegetables are procured here mostly from Kolhapur, Belagavi and Karwar, poultry and beef are procured from Belagavi. Stocks of vegetables in the markets are depleting.

Prices are likely to shoot up due to short supply of poultry and beef.
