Heavy downpour - Holiday for schools, colleges on July 24 in Udupi district

Udupi, Jul 23: The district is being battered with heavy rain since five days. As a precautionary measure, the deputy commissioner (DC) of the district Hephsiba Rani Korlapati has declared holiday to anganwadi, primary schools, high schools, PU and degree colleges in the district on Wednesday, July 24. 

According to the weather forecast given by the Indian meteorological department, heavy rains will continue to lash the twin districts. 

 

DC also visited the rain-affected areas with officials. Red alert has been sounded already in the district of Udupi.

    Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district, Hephsiba Rani Korlapati has taken the right decision to declare a holiday for schools and colleges on July 24 as a precautionary measure. She along with officials visited many rain affected areas and found it unsafe.

    They must give holiday in mangalore also it’s difficult to go to schools in rain what will happen if they children catch fever and fall in trouble ? Manipal school is near drainage and it overflows nursery kids can fall into it so I prefer they give holiday in mangalore also tomorrow
