Udupi, Jul 21: The police team led by DCIB inspector Kiran C, which acted upon definite information that gambling game of cards is going on at a hotel in Manipal, raided the hotel and arrested 19 people. This raid was conducted on July 19.
The cops arrested Jnanesh Shetty, a resident of Hiriyadka, Shailesh Sanil, a resident of Mumbai, Ambareesha, a resident of Koppal, Umesh Salian, a resident of Manipal and Bhaskar, a resident of Bannanje from one room and confiscated Rs 33,725 from them.
From one more room of the hotel, the cops arrested Sudhakar Amin, a resident of Kidiyoor, Jagadish, a resident of Malpe, Sukumar, a resident of Kundapur, Sujith, a resident of Kundapur, Shankara, a resident of Kodavoor, Sharif, a resident of Kodavoor, Harish, a resident of Kundapur, Sharan, a resident of Kundapur, Abdul Muneer, a resident of Hemmady, Shahid Sheikh, Rakesh Devadiga, Ramesh, Santhosh, all residents of Kundapur and Yogish, a resident of Kemmannu. The police recovered 12 mobile phones and Rs 1,22,425 from the accused.
