Udupi: Adani Foundation grants Rs 25 lac to Sevanjali Educational Trust

Udupi, Jul 20: The Bhoomi Pooja and foundation stone laying programme for the construction of Shishu Mandir of Sevanjali Educational Trust was held recently at Kadalakere in Moodbidri taluk, Dakshina Kannada district. Adani Foundation, a CSR wing of Adani Group, under its Education activity of CSR, has given a grant-in-aid of Rs 25 lac for the construction of Shishu Mandir. The foundation stone was laid by Umanath Kotian, MLA, Moodbidri and Kishore Alva, president and executive director of Adani UPCL.

Performing the Bhoomi Pooja, Kishore Alva expressed happiness that St Ignatius School, which is run and managed by Sevanjali Educational Trust and Prerana Trust is imparting free education for more than 10 decades. The Institution has created a milestone in the field of rural education and serving the society through education. To strengthen the Institution hands and widen their services to the rural society, Adani Foundation has supported for the construction of Prerana Shishu Mandir, Alva added. He further informed that Adani CSR aims at eradication of illiteracy and promoting education in the rural areas and Adani is proud enough in joining hands with Sevanjali Educational Trust, which will facilitate imparting quality education and culture to the students’ right from their childhood.

Umanath Kotian, who was present as chief guest during the programme, thanked Adani Foundation for extending the support to Sevanjali Education Trust and applauded the efforts of Adani in promoting education in rural areas.

Prof M Vasudeva Bhat, convener of Sevanjali Trust, presided the programme. Vivekananda Kamat, Sanghachalak of RSS, Moodbidri, Devaki, president of School Development Management Committee, Jayaram Bhat, headmaster of St Ignatius School, Chetan Kumar Shetty, president of Sevanjali Trust, trustees Niddodi Jagannath Shetty, S S Borkar were present on the occasion. M Shantaram Shetty, secretary convened the programme and Dr Keshava Hegde delivered the vote of thanks.

    Surprising that they named it St. Ignatius School so that anything happens tomorrow in the school you can blame others. Why not name it Sevanjali school or Prerana School as a true nationalist. Why use a name alien to the trust and its principles
