Kundapur, July 19: Even as incidents of illegal transport and slaughter of cattle are increasing with each passing day, the head portion and pelt of a cow stuffed in a sack were found at Kalavinabagilu, Gangolli here on Thursday, July 18.

The sack was found floating in the rivulet by fishermen going for fishing in a boat on Thursday morning. The curious fishermen who opened the sack found the skull and pelt of a cow inside.

The skull appeared to be of a cow that was slaughtered probably three days ago. It is suspected that the miscreants who slaughtered the animal would have tossed the head stuffed in the sack into the rivulet.

Gangolli police, who arrived at the spot after being informed, conducted inquest and buried the things found in a pit.

It is not the first case we have read about the carcass of the cow. In earlier days there are incidents of cow torso being left in Temple and pig in Mosque to create any communal disharmony.

But it is unacceptable to throw the waste into the river causing pollution. Probably it should be buried in the ground.

As far as cow it has no religious significance. The people of India are more malnutrition than before due to proper in taking proteins and nutrients. Not everyone can afford a nutritional food. So Beef is cheaper than the goat and fish.

If there is no compulsion attached with ruling BJP government of PM Modi's central government, then the legal market should be open to making more affordable. This is the best solution for all cow theft to put an end. This, in turn, will help farmers to sustain economically. It will also support the various associated industries.
The $5 Trillion economies can't be achieved unless the free trade promoted in village levels. India needs to be aggresive than China and Pakistan or else they will take advantage of the domestic problem with the livestock industry.
I will also like to request the law enforcing authority to more vigilant with increasing night patrols. We Kannadigas don't want 'lynching' in the name of the cow.

Nature does not mind humans, cows or animals. Only humans can choose moral uprightness and show compassion to humans and creatures. What kind of animal species demand our compassion and how many kind do not deserve?
Lets eat vegetables and see if our country becomes a model for rest of humanity where criminal elements and political goondas will change. If not, politicians will advocate protection for cows as a pretext to gain votes and behind our back they eat beef.
