Bantwal, Jul 17: In a tragic accident which happened at Parlottu near Neralekatte, Vittal in the taluk on Tuesday July 16 night, a woman died and four others suffered serious injuries. All injured persons stand admitted into the government hospital at Puttur.
The accident involved an ambulance and a truck. The woman died on the spot of the accident. The injured who were admitted into the hospital include the patient being taken in the ambulance.
The ambulance was carrying a patient from Soorya in Idkidu village to Mangaluru for emergency dialysis from the Puttur hospital when the ambulance got involved with a head-on collision with a goods truck that was moving towards Puttur from Mangaluru.
The police rushed to the spot after coming to know of the accident and took relief measure.
