Mangaluru: St Ann’s College of Education celebrates Feast of Mount Carmel, St Ann

Mangaluru, Jul 12: St Ann’s College of Education (autonomous), here, celebrated feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St Ann.

The feast of Our Lady is the titular feast of the congregation of the Apostolic Carmel and the Foundation day of the congregation. Feast of St Ann is celebrated as the college feast for the college is entrusted to the patronage of St Ann.

It is a day to thank the Lord for His blessings on the institution, staff and students. The day was marked with significant and meaningful celebrations. The programme began by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer dance, followed by a prayer service during which the students highlighted the virtues of Mary, Mother of Carmel and St Ann and sought the blessings of God on all their intercessions.



Nikitha D’Souza highlighted the significance of the day.

Sr Shanthi and group enacted a skit which depicted the life of St Ann bringing out her role in educating Mary in virtue and love of God and her inspiration to all the educators. A mime was performed depicting the core values emphasized by St Ann’s College of Education. Students expressed their gratitude to God for all the blessings bestowed on the institution and the students through a dance performance.

Principal Dr Sr Clare AC speaking on this occasion emphasized values of prayer, trust in God and belief in positive energy. She also highlighted the tradition of Carmel and appreciated the uniqueness of every student.

Jyosna compered the programme and Sr Zeena coordinated the programme.

All the staff and students took part in this celebration.
