Udupi: Vehicles manufactured after April 1, 2019 to have high security registration plates

Udupi, Jul 12: As per notification from the union government, it is mandatory to have high security registration plate (HSRP) installed for vehicles manufactured after April 1, 2019.

It had been directed to contact dealers soon after receiving mobile message of the approval of number of new vehicle and install high security registration plates.

As Vahan-4 software is updated so as to print RC Smart Card only after dealer’s confirmation that the vehicle is installed HSRP, the new vehicle owners are asked to get HSRP number plates from the dealers.

Regional transport officer, Udupi in a press release has asked to contact vehicle dealers for additional information.
