Bantwal: Carmel College Modankap inaugurates students council

Bantwal, Jul 11: Carmel College Modankap students council 2019-20 was recently inaugurated at the college auditorium by Dr Ravi Shetty, vice principal St Aloysius Evening College, here.

The programme began by invoking God’s blessings. The principal Dr Sr Latha Fernandes AC, handed over the college flag to the student council leaders, president Babitha Felsita Pereira III BBA, secretary Delwin Melroy III BCom, joint secretary Amrutha Alva III BCom as a sign of taking up the responsibilities.

The principal handed over badges to 33 office bearers and administered the oath taking ceremony by all the student council leaders, secretaries of various associations and departments and class representatives.

The chief guest Dr Ravi Shetty began his address with the life illustration of Thomas Alva Edison to emphasize the significance of hard work. Further the quote of Narayana Murthy related to present education system drawback and Swami Vivekananda’s quote of success was elucidated. He also mentioned the role and functions of the student council for the development of leadership quality and employment skill. He concluded his talk with the significance of determination for student’s life by stating an example of an 'eagle's lifespan'.



Dr Sr Latha AC delivered her presidential remarks.

Vice principal Florine Menezes, teaching and non-teaching staff and all the students of the college were present.

The programme was compered by Nafeesa Safa III BCOM, Babitha III B, BA welcomed the gathering and Delwin III BCom proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme ended with the college anthem.
