Mangaluru: Good rain in twin districts – Houses, electric poles damaged

Mangaluru, Jul 11: The coastal belt received good rain on Wednesday, July 10. There are reports of damages to electric polls and houses due to falling of trees. Traffic also got affected due to water logging.

At Akashbhavan in the city, the house belonging to Jayashree got damaged as the tree located at her neighbour’s house fell on her house. At Parapade, near Akashabhavan, the house of Shubha got damaged as the retainer wall of the Gudi nearby collapsed. The toilet and bedroom of Shubha's house got damaged in the process. 

The road below the bridge at Padil was filled with slush as the mud from the sides of the over bridge fell down on the road. 

Udupi, Manipal, Padubidri, Brahmavar, Kaup, Katapadi, Belman and Thekkatte areas received good rains. At Doddannagudde in Udupi, a tree fell on the shed of Krishna Hebsoor. No damage was reported. More than 27 electric poles fell down due to the heavy rain with wind at Kota. More than 11 houses got damaged in places like Shiriyara, Giliyaru and Gundmi.
