Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jul 9: A police officer extended help to a lady doctor who was helplessly standing by the roadside, facing the necessity to bring medicines for her sick father. Santosh, assistant sub-inspector of Kadri police station, was congratulated by city police commissioner Sandeep Patil, for this people-friendly initiative.

Santosh and driver of the jeep, Nagaraj, were on city rounds at around 1.30 am on July 6 when they found a lady doctor moving in a hurry near Shivbagh here. When questioned, the doctor said that she was in need of medicines for her father urgently and that she was looking for an auto rickshaw. The policemen escorted her to a medical shop at Karanglpady and dropped her off at her home after she procured the medicine required.

The lady doctor, through a tweet to the police commissioner, thanked the police for their humane help. In this background, the police commissioner invited assistant sub-inspector, Santosh, to his office and congratulated him. He also has appreciated him for projecting police as a people-friendly force.

What a commendable job by the Mangalore Police. Thank you. This reminds me when at night I was returning to my car, I noticed a puncture. My wife and daughter were standing at the side of the road whilst I was trying to change the tyre. A passing Dubai Police patrol car stopped and changed the tyre for me. I was so thankful to that Arab officer. He said drive safely.

The Commissioner of Police Mr. Sanjiv Patil deserves praise because he has inculcated values among his subordinates.

I feel too proud to read this because our police department has shown some humanity this time while being on duty. Police in developed countries do exactly like this. They don't drive past a needy person.

    Thank you Mr. Santpsh.
