Solar company director arrested for cheating, former minister duped of Rs 32 lac

Mumbai, Jul 9: Under false pretense, a solar company duped several investors, where the company accepted huge investments from people, including a minister as well. In relation to this, Vivek Ambekar, director of Ignited Minds Infosystem Pvt Ltd, was booked under the IPC section for cheating, forgery and criminal breach of trust by the branch of economic offences wing (EOW).

Vivek Ambekar, operated from his office at Gokuldham in Goregaon, the company ran under the pretext of setting up a solar system in the centre-approved Jawaharlal Nehru Solar Mission, initiated to make India a global leader in solar energy. Ambekar would accept the investments and promised large profits per month which would be through setting up of solar panels.

One of the officials who was working on the case stated that there were several high profile names who invested in the plan. One of the names was of Dharamrao Attram, a former minister, who was duped for Rs 32 lac.

The other directors who partook in this were, Govind Ambekar, Leena Deshpande and her husband, Shekar, who are on the run after they cheated a businessman for Rs 82 lac.
