Bengaluru, Jul 5: Congress MLA from Vijayanagar Anand Singh, who has tendered his resignation from the assembly membership, said that he will not speak to any other leaders. "Once chief minister, Kumaraswamy, comes back from the foreign trip, I will speak to him," he clarified.

Anand Singh was here for appearing for hearing in the illegal mining case at the special court for people's representatives. He said that he will be prepared to discuss issues only if the chief minister accepts his demands.

In the meanwhile, deputy chief minister, Dr G Parameshwar, angrily reacted by saying that all stages of appeasing Anand Singh have been crossed and the legislator is now free to take his own decision. "We will not henceforth make any effort to convince him," he announced. He added that efforts can be carried out to a certain level after which the individual will be allowed to do what he deems right.

The assembly speaker, K R Ramesh Kumar, felt that it is not honourable for legislators elected by the people to resign. Speaking to media persons at Vidhana Soudha on Thursday, he said that Gokak MLA, Ramesh Jarkiholi, has not contacted him. He said that believing in rumours of legislators tendering resignations, he has been travelling 100 km every day to wait in his office, but no one is seeking an appointment. He said that only media persons seek his appointment. He clarified that Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee has not filed any complaint about Anand Singh's resignation as reported by some media.
